I just listened to an interview with Walter Mosley who said the secret to becoming a great writer is to write something everyday. One of my mentors, Tyler Cowen, not only writes everyday, his stuff is published nearly everyday. I don’t keep up with how often I write, but I’m sure I put out something new at least 3 or 4 times a week.

If you ever considered getting into the writing habit, maybe this is the motivation you need.

From December 15 to January 15, Widener professor Jayne Thompson and the Chester Writer House is conducting a group writing challenge and creating a community of writers to push each other along during these long cold days of mid-winter.

I think I’ll join to work on some non-fiction stuff I’m been wanting to try. All this Chester Matters Blog stuff gets depressing after a while.
