To my knowledge, there’s only one place to buy Christmas trees in Chester and that’s on Rt 291 and Reaney Streets right behind the Ruth L. Bennett home.
I was at Whole Foods in Glen Mills earlier today and all their trees were $69.99, but trees in Chester range from $25 to $50 dollars. My wife and I purchased one last night and I promised owner Terrance Davis I’d come back to give him a shout out on the blog.
Terrance owns the lot size property that sits between the Ruth L. Bennett home and the Barry Bridge in direct view of Subaru Park. As we met up today, the crowd was starting to arrive for the Cup Semi-Final playoff game between the Philadelphia Union and Memphis 901 FC.
He started selling Christmas trees during last year’s holiday season which forced him to be creative due to the pandemic. He has extended last year’s offerings including free local delivery; he does in-home set up; he’ll send you photos of the available trees if you call him; and he’s just a very pleasant guy to do business with.
Terrance says he started with 110 trees and has another 50 in storage. I saw a report on the news that said trees are going to be hard to find as we get closer to Christmas and the prices will be higher than usual. If you believe the hype, get on down to Terrance’s spot and grab your tree while they last.
