The Boys & Girls Club of Chester joined forces with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the City of Chester’s Bureau of Health to conduct a basketball clinic for 12-17 year olds designed to encourage them to get the COVID vaccine.
The event was organized by Widener University grad and clinical nurse Sophia Collins from CHOP and her team of Philly Teen Vaxx Ambassadors.
Boys and girls played basketball in half hour intervals between targeted talks from various individuals emphasizing the importance of getting vaccinated. Players from the Chester High School basketball team were scheduled to appear during the second half of the event to participate in a full court scrimmage and to also be encouraged to get vaccinated if they needed it.
I just think Vaxx-It-Ball is such a cool name for the event.
