Chester, Pa. — The Stormwater Authority of the City of Chester (SAC) is pleased to announce it has started weekly street sweeping services this summer and will continue through the end of Fall 2021.  Residents can expect to see SAC personnel tending to street cleaning efforts on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Recently,  SAC purchased a  heavy-duty vehicle known as the Tornado A7 Vacuum Sweeper specifically designed to clean city streets. Crews will use this vehicle and other SAC trucks to clean streets and collect trash in the designated areas.

Detailed street signage announcing parking restrictions will be posted in advance. Members of the community who reside on streets where street sweeping services are scheduled to take place will be asked to move their vehicles during the designated hours. During these hours, vehicles that are not moved may be subject to towing and other fines.

Residents are also encouraged to follow SAC on Facebook or visit their website for updates about the street sweeping schedule.
