I’ve been following the black experience with COVID-19 from a lot of perspectives since March (BlackCOVID19.com) and issued some bold predictions for Chester City: one which came true and the other which exceeded my wildest dreams.
The one the came true was how Chester City would be slow to get COVID-19 but when it set in, we’d be amassing cases at a much higher clip much later than others in Delaware County.
The one I could never imagine was Chester exceeding Yeadon in number of cases considering how far ahead they were early, and never in my wildest imagination did I see Chester chasing down, and today passing, Middletown Township for the 2nd place spot in the county.
In the last 10-days, Chester has added 68 cases; Yeadon 18 cases; and Middletown 15 cases.
Despite only having 2 public testing events (May 12 & June 28) and no nursing homes in Chester City, just one look at the chart below shows the curve is still on the upswing.
I don’t know what else to say or where to point you for an official response to this troubling trend.
