Chester’s Jahlil Beats co-produced the song which won Best Rap Performance in last night’s Grammy Awards in a tie with a song from the Black Panther movie sound track.
“Bubblin” performed by Anderson .Paak came out in May and was described by one music industry writer as ‘A trap-infused bounce beat with heavy drums and rumbling bass sound which departs from the dusty, Stax-inspired soul that typified his earlier work.’
This is the first Grammy win for .Paak and Jahlil (not sure about Antman).
Other sources quote…
Paak crafted “Bubblin” with producers Jahlil Beats and Antman Wonder. “The beat has so many dynamics with the strings and it’s a lot of range with the music,” Paak said. “It’s dope just finding that pocket.
“Bubblin” boasts a stomping drum beat and a striking mix of synths, strings and horns that Paak described as “some black 007 action adventure high speed chase type of music.”
In the wild, hip-hop hoop dreams spectacle of a music video, Paak lives out a fantasy of going on a shopping spree after coming across a broken ATM machine spewing hundreds of bills.
