Members of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity announced their support for congressional candidates in the May primary on Monday in West Philadelphia.

“In the Fifth Congressional District, the Black Clergy is placing its support behind Thaddeus Kirkland who currently sits as [the] Mayor of Chester,” Broadnax added. “Mayor Kirkland has more than a quarter century of working in the legislature to build strong communities, communities that are safer because of safer because of sensible gun legislation, communities that are healthier through funding or health care and communities that are better educated because of insisting that state and federal government invests significant dollars in public education.”
