Some people don’t understand the power art can have on a community. While we’re right in the midst of an renaissance occurring in downtown Chester that’s sparked by the arts, the benefits will not manifest itself to it’s fullest extent for a little while to come.

‘A New Color – The Art of Being Edythe Boone’, on PBS, tells of the life and work of a 70 year old black women who became an artist/activist simply because she feels that empowering and building community is the right thing to do.

Watch this great documentary that was filmed over five years and get a better appreciation for what is happening to an even larger degree in Chester.
