I have an uncanny knack of finding misspelled words in print. The irony is that I often can’t seem to find the words I misspell in the stuff I write.
Because of my own personal failings, I usually empathize when I find misspelled words in other publications and let it slide, but while cleaning out my work bag this morning, I found the above picture that I ripped out of the Philadelphia Daily News after Carrie Fisher died. It was too funny to let slide.
Editors are probably the most valuable under appreciated profession. Not only do they catch misspelled words, but they understand all that writing stuff like tone and grammar that I know I get wrong more times than not.
Did you find the error in the above photo description? If so, maybe I should hire you as my editor.
