(Chester, PA) – On Saturday, October 1, 2016, “Chopped Junior” winner, Tavia Isaac will be honored during the “So You Think You Can Hoop,” Basketball Showcase. Twelve year old Isaac, a Chester resident, won top chef honors after competing on the Food Network’s “Chopped Junior” show.

Eight year old Da’Mira Allen, another Chester resident, will also be honored for her accomplishments as an AAU track runner.  Allen has competed in several national competitions, including the AAU Junior Olympic Games.  As a member of the Chester Cheetah’s Track Club, Allen currently holds the record in the 400, 800 and 1500 meter-run.

Both young ladies will be presented with awards for their accomplishments and dedication to their respective craft during a brief ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm.

The all day basketball showcase, presented by All About Youth, kickoffs at 10:00am with a sixth-grade boys’ matchup and will culminate with an all-star boys’ game scheduled to begin at 8:30pm.

Highlighted features of the showcase include:

–       11 All-Star Games

–       Elite middle and high school basketball players from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland

Proceeds from the showcase will support two local AAU basketball teams:

–       Youth Interlock

–       Team Future
