(CHESTER, PA) – On Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 10am, more than two dozen local high school students will be recognized during the City of Chester’s regular city council meeting.
The student achievers, ranging from grades 9 through 11, were selected to become recipients of the Rising Star Award, as part of the City of Chester’s, Seeds of Excellence Award. To qualify for the award, students were required to submit an application detailing their academic achievements, and outstanding contributions of service to the community and respective schools.
Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland, along with Chester City Council will present the students with certificates inside of council chambers. Family and friends of the young scholars have been invited to attend the recognition ceremony and a reception will follow.
