I regularly ask, “Who’s is reading to our children?” Today, it will be the Mayor of Chester as the J. Lewis Crozer Library presents, ‘A Special Storytime with Mayor Kirkland.’
Several years ago the ‘One Book’ idea was hatched. It’s used by schools, organizations, and even cities and states to recommend one book that everyone reads in an effort to get everyone familiar with the same concept, opinion, or story. Usually, there are follow up community events where people gather to discuss the book.
Today, Mayor Kirkland will be reading to the Pre-Kindergartan to Kindergarteners the book selected as the’ Pennsylvania One Book Every Child 2016,’ entitled ‘Kite Day: A Bear & Mole Story.’
Bring the little ones out for this special event. I’m sure it will be a big deal.
